Cigars & Tobacco
Cigar leaves and tobacco for cigarettes must be processed and stored at specific levels of relative humidity to avoid deterioration and other quality problems.
Product packaging has a limit to its ability to protect what’s inside and so storage of the final tobacco products in warehouses, at wholesalers and retail outlets are often overlooked for the need to maintain correct levels of humidity control. Relative humidity (rH) should be at around 60% – 70% rH and temperatures between 21°C – 22°C. It is crucial to control these levels to maintain the quality of the product.
Novatron portable humidifiers are used to control relative humidity precisely at the required levels for tobacco in either large storage areas like warehouses (PH15) or within the confines of a cigar cabinet or ‘Humidor’ (Edward, Robert or Harry).
